We are in Alabama!!!

Well, we are officially in Alabama!  We flew in on December 20th and have been busy (but in a good way) until today.  We have just been taking it easy this morning enjoying each other.  The Lord has blessed us once again with an awesome place to stay and we are so thankful!  Trussville First Baptist is letting us stay in their mission house and in it we feel right at home.  Wow, what a blessing to have a place to call home for the two weeks we will be visiting.

When we arrived on Saturday, the temp was a nice 70 degrees or so, but then the very next day that old Alabama weather was faithful to the craziness that it has always been know for and the temp dropped down to about 40 degrees!  I know that is nothing for some of you out there who are shoveling snow, but for us it was coooooooooold!!!  "Ezelles, we're not in Costa Rica anymore!"

We have enjoyed our time with our family and friends so far and we look forward to the times that we will get to share with them in the next several days.  We have also just enjoyed being, well, just being back on Alabama soil.  (I wish we had time to visit Kentucky too.)  Also, Cohen and I got to go to WAL-MART yesterday (all alone) and we had so much fun.  I bet people were wondering why we were walking around with such big smiles on our faces :-)  It has been over 8 months since we have been in Wal-Mart!  After Wal-Mart, we treated ourselves to SUBWAY.  Our mouths were watering before we ever took the first bite :-)

While Cohen and I were having our fun, the kids were at Cohen's Mom and Dad's house making a ginger bread house.  It turned out beautiful!  I will have to post a picture when I get one.

We hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the awesomeness that this season brings no matter where you may be.  May all of you have a very Merry Christmas filled with all of Christ's glory!   And may the wonder and splendor of the birth of our Lord and Savior fill you with joy like nothing else the things of this world could ever offer!

For His glory alone we wish you a very Merry Christmas :-)

A Good Reason NOT to Do Santa

Check out this funny slide show of pictures from Christmas' past and Christmas' present. I have always thought of Santa as being a little creepy, but these pictures say it all. Especially note the one toward the end, the "angry" Santa. Do you think kids would be so terrified sitting in the lap of Jesus? That is something to think about huh!?!

Levi's 1st "Bad" Word

This is really funny. Just the other day we were sitting at the table eating lunch and Levi dropped his sippy cup on the floor. Rosa was there eating with us and to help Levi out, she picked his cup up off of the floor for him. As soon as he got it back in his hands he "conveniently" dropped it again with a little smile on his face. At that point, I said, "que malo" which means "how bad". When Levi heard me say "que malo" he immediately said in his very cute little voice, "malo" (bad). Rosa and I looked at each other and began to laugh because we couldn't believe that he just said that. I looked at Levi and asked him to say malo again and sure enough he did just that. It was hilarious! When Cohen came home I told him all about it and he looked at me and said well, this is Levi's first "bad" word. I just couldn't resist blogging about it :-) Now when we ask him to say "malo" he says it with a mischevious little grin on his face.

A Little Different Thanksgiving

More pictures are to come, but this is just to give you a preview.  We had a little different Thanksgiving this year . . . no turkey, no dressing, no pumpkin pie . . . but we did have Papa and Beebee for a visit (my stepdad and my mom).  They flew in on Thanksgiving Day and then on Friday while everybody back in the States was hitting all of those "Day after Thanksgiving" sales, we were in a van heading to La Fortuna for a weekend view of the Arenal volcano.  We were told that this volcano is the 2nd most active volcano in the world so we thought it was pretty neat that we got to see it with our own eyes!

We had a great weekend with Papa and Beebee, but we parted ways with them for a while on Sunday because they had a lot more to see in Costa Rica.  Cohen had to get back to school on Monday so we said our goodbyes and look forward to seeing them again this Saturday.  I can't wait to find out how the rest of their trip went :-)  And I also can't wait to see all the pictures that Beebee took!  That is why I am holding off on posting more pictures; I know she got some great ones!

Okay, that is all for now and I will post more soon :-)
