"Look, Mommy, I'm feeding Levi!"

Just an ordinary morning in the Ezelle house, but this morning Samuel had already eaten breakfast with Cohen.  So, he was all done with breakfast by the time Iva, Levi and I were starting.  I had Levi's oatmeal on the table and him in his chair, but I had to walk away for some reason.  When I returned, Samuel was giving Levi a bite and saying, "Look, Mommy, I'm feeding Levi!"  I thought, "wow, this could be cool!"  Way to go Samuel!  Keep it up, just be careful!  He ended up feeding him every bite and he seemed just thrilled to be doing it!  Levi seemed to like it too and didn't complain one bit.  I actually got to eat my breakfast without having to pause and help Levi because my little helper, Samuel was doing such a great job :-)  What a great big brother you are Samuel!!!

Notice how Samuel has his mouth wide open as he is giving Levi his bite :-)  And people poke fun at mommies for doing this when they feed their children.  This just goes to show you that we all do it; it just comes natural.  I think you would have to fight against it just to keep from doing it :-)

"Mommy, Levi is doing it again!!"

"Mommy, Levi is doing it again!" This was what I heard from Samuel one afternoon.  As I went to investigate what was going on, I saw Levi standing on the stool in the kitchen with an apple in hand.  Yep, he did it again!  Oh well, I guess he gets to eat an apple right now.  Of course, Samuel and Iva had to have one too.  Take a good look at the pictures because you will see that there was almost nothing left to Levi's apple.  As I was snapping pictures, I failed to notice that he even ate the seeds!  I had no idea a child under the age of 2 years could possibly handle eating an apple like that!  Samuel didn't even finish his, and Iva barely put a dent in hers.

Aguacate

Check out what we have growing on the big tree in our front yard . . . AGUACATES!!!  That would be "avocados" in English.  I've never been a big fan, but here in Costa Rica, people absolutely love them!  We were told some months back that the aguacates would come around January, and that was exactly right.  And what is even more exciting is the fact that Samuel can hardly get enough of them!  He loves them plain or with a little bit of lime juice.  Just this past weekend, Cohen and Samuel went out front to see if they could harvest some big ones a little higher in the tree.  The harvest was plentiful!  Our maid, and friend, Rosa says that she is going to fatten Samuel up with these aguacates before we leave Costa Rica :-)  Yum, yum, eat up little man!!

Playing with the Sunlight

This was too cute!  There was a little bit of sunlight shining down on the floor between our dinning room and living room and Levi spotted it.  He thought, "what is this?", and began playing with it.  I couldn't resist pulling out the camera.  He was so funny, laying on it, slapping it, talking about it; he thought is was so much fun!  I enjoyed watching him explore this strange new thing on the floor and of course he told me all about it!  I love it :-)

Chocolate Pudding

One night after supper we made some chocolate pudding and the kids really enjoyed it as you can see.  Samuel had hardly any on his face when I took these pictures of Iva and Levi, but the very next night when Samuel had some again he made sure to let me know that he needed his picture taken too!  He said, "Mommy, take a picture of me!"  He did a great job of getting it all over his mouth didn't he!  :-)  He is always our neatest eater, but he of course had to take advantage of this situation!  He didn't want to be left out of the picture taking fun!  I asked Cohen if he wanted to smear some pudding on his face for a picture, but he declined :-)
