A Father's Heart
You need to listen to this if you haven't already. This is Rick Burgess speaking at his son's memorial service just after he, his wife Sherri and their 4 other children just buried 2 year old Bronner Burgess who drowned in the family's pool just this past Saturday. It is a very good message; one that could have only been given by the Lord's strength. Continue to wrap Your arms around this family Lord until you bring them all home. To God be the glory!

How Still Can a 3 Year Old Be???

After
Well, how still can a 3 year old be . . . he did pretty good considering that his Mommy was cutting his hair! This was my second attempt and this time I had instructions from a pro. The first time I cut his hair, he was sitting in a bathtub and it took me about three different attempts to get it looking halfway decent. That was probably about a year ago and I had such a hard time that I thought I would never try again. Well, I tried again, but this time I made sure I had help. What do you think? I think it looks pretty good. You never saw pictures of the first try and you never will! Ha, ha! You were a good sport Samuel. Don't worry, Mommy will get better and better with practice. That little cute face outshines any haircut anyway.

Let it Snow!
3 Ezelles in a Tub
Well, we actually did it! We put all three children in the tub at once! Are we crazy or what?? Actually it wasn't that crazy and they had a lot of fun together. They are only children once, so why not have some fun.

First Finger Food
Levi tried out his first finger food last night. I found something new at the store called Baby Mum Mum. They are little rice rusks and aren't too bad. I'm not sure what Levi thought about it though. It was definitely a new experience for the little guy; one that I'm sure he will pick up on quick.
Little Chef
Someone is in the kitchen with Daddy. Was she helping Daddy make pancakes??? A little sweet basil, a dash of red pepper and black pepper, a pinch of garlic . . . I hope not!! She had a great time pretending though.

Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow
Praise God! That is what I want to do tonight. The Lord has been so gracious to us lately and I want to share the blessings with you.
I meant to blog about this earlier, but I am just now getting to it. A week or so ago we received a letter in the mail from some friends in my old neighborhood where I grew up. I lived next door to them from the time I was 6 years old until I was married at 22. I haven't had too much contact with them since I left home but we have kept in touch through wedding/baby showers, Christmas cards, my parents and by sending them our newsletters once a month.
Anyway, back to the letter . . . it read, Dear Cohen and Amie, . . . It's so good to hear from you. I do keep you all in my prayers. We have sold our church property and paid off bills due by the church (loans, etc.). It was approved by the former members to send a donation to your mission to go toward yours and Amie's work for the Lord. . . .
This blew us away! We had no idea this was coming our way. We have never even been to this church and the members don't even know us! This was such a God thing and we knew it! The Lord is showing us that He has called us and He will provide for all of our needs. He continues to show us that. Thank You Father for this church and thank You for our friends that helped make this possible. Bless them Lord! To God be the glory!
Another exciting moment came this week when the director from our mission called us and gave us the OK to start making plans to leave for Costa Rica in April 2008. The Lord is working! He is making it happen! I don't even know what to say . . . we are so very excited! Something that we felt called to over 7 years ago is finally starting to happen and FAST!!! When things are in the Lord's timing everything is right and it feels right.
A couple of days ago we began praying that a specific need would be met, and tonight the Lord met that need! That need was met right on our front door step by some very good friends of ours. We told them that they were the answer to our prayers. They told us that the Lord laid it upon their hearts to give us a gift. The Lord is in control! I have no doubt that the Lord hears the prayers of His children. Thank you Father and thank you for our friends! Bless them Lord as only You can.
Oh Father, help us to always remember the grace that You have poured out on us. When dark days come as I am sure they will, help us to remember that You are here. Thank You for Your love. We are so unworthy. Make us like Your Son, for it is only through Him that we are made worthy.
