Update on Nathanael 5-9-09

Nathanael hasn't improved that much, but maybe a little.  He isn't any worse thought, thank the Lord.  I (Amie) got to hold him again last night, which I absolutely loved.  I offered to let Cohen hold him some, but he said that he wanted Nathanael to have Mommy time :-)  He is so sweet!  They still won't let Nathanael eat, but said that maybe he can sometime today.  I hope he can start normal feedings soon.  He seems very content considering that he hasn't had any milk at all.  He is so precious :-)

We can go down to see him at 10 this morning so we are counting down the minutes.  We have to go home today, but we are going to stick around as much as we can before we need to get home to be reunited with Samuel, Iva and Levi.  We miss them so much :-( and have been told that we are being missed too.

When we go down to see Nathanael at 10, we should find out more about his breathing.  The dr. said yesterday that it is probably either fluid that is still hanging around or it could be infection that has set in.  They were supposed to do another x ray this  morning to decide what the problem is.  If the x ray looks a little more clear this morning, then it is probably just fluid.  If it is an infection, then they will have to keep him for another week in the NICU on antibiotics.  As of right now, we don't know when we can take our little sweetie home.  This is hard for us, but at the same time, it is so comforting for us to know that he is in such good hands here.

I wish I could give you more info right now, but we wont really know anything else until after 10 this morning.  I'm not sure when I will be able to give another update, but will try to do it sooner rather than later.  Thank you all for your love and support and most of all for your prayers.  We have felt so loved and prayed for and we are so thankful to the Lord for each one of you!
