Last week we had some dear friends come to visit with us from Guatemala. We met David and Glynis in language school and in fact, we started our year of language study together and in the same classes. What a blessing it was to get to know them during that year in Costa Rica. We love them so much; they are like family to us. You can imagine how sad :-( we were to say goodbye last March as we were getting ready to end our time in Costa Rica. Actually, we didn't say "goodbye", we said "see you later" because we had hopes of seeing them again in the future. Little did we know that 6 months later we would be seeing them again in Punta Gorda, Belize.
Once they heard that we had arrived in Belize, they started planning a way to come visit us. A little driving and a little boating and they eventually arrived in PG (Punta Gorda). Also, they brought with them some veteran Guatemalan missionaries and dear friends and of theirs, Wendell and Jane Parker and Ms Fran. We had a great time visiting with them for about a day and a half and really enjoyed getting to know Wendell, Jane and Fran.
The kiddos had a great time seeing David and Glynis again too! Samuel insisted that Mr. David play Dominoes with him again and I think I heard Iva call "Ms. Glynis" her best friend :-) Levi, got lots of kisses and tickles and some reading time in Glynis' lap. And, Nathanael, well . . . he got lots and lots of lovin' from both David and Glynis. It is as if he knew them already even though this was the first time they had met. But, then again, there had been a lot of prayers lifted up for little Nathanael before and after birth by David and Glynis. So, I guess that was their connection :-)
We look forward to when we can go visit them and hope that they will be able to visit us again before too long. We love you David and Glynis!! Thank you for coming and loving on us :-) Glynis, I hope you have a wonderful birthday this Wednesday!!!
